...and then it comes to me like an *EPIPHANY* {an album review}

had Chrisette Michele waited another month, it would have been two whole years since this sassy songstress released her last album {the nerve of her to keep us waiting!} She released "I AM" in June 2007 {and uh I'm still RoCkinG out to it like it came out ystrday-dead serious!} and yesterday her sophomore album, "Epiphany" hit stores!!!!!!!! I heard the Epiphany remix featuring Rick Ross and Juelz Santana roughly a month ago and was mesmerized!! I later heard snippets of a few other songs via Imeem and could not wait for the release of this album!

After leaving work, at 8p.m. i headed to Target and what do i find, Epiphany-SOLD OUT {good for Chrisette and her camp, bad for ME and my anxious self} no worries, drive to the next Target! 2 copies left, {COOLERS} I listened to the album all night, uploaded it to my iPod, blasted it as i got dressed for work this morning, jammed to it on the metro all the way to work. . .it's 5pm and i'm STILL listening! {Needless to say, this is going to be an Amazing Review!}

i gotta admit I had my reservations before listening and it probably had something to do with those Other Blogs and websites and their formulated opinions prior to the release. The news surrounding this album was Chrisette's decision to fall back on the writing end and allow songwriting powerhouse Ne-Yo to take on the task. Not that I'm not a fan of the wonderfully written and composed Ne-Yo tracks {he makes hits- Irreplaceable is my jammmm} BUT I feared Chrisette's music would lose the original flava that separates her from your typical r&b artist and well to easily sum it up "makes her her!" I mean she said it best, "my names chrisette michele, get to know me well 'cause i got a whole lot to bring. . .so many ladies in the game right now wanna rock with the chris on the microphone, i've been studying ms billy, ms ella, ms sarah vaughn, and ms natalie cole" {Let's Rock, "I Am} she's far from ur AVERAGE, not even TYPICAL! SO YEA, I was praying praying praying this album wouldn't portray a commercialized~music made strictly for main stream~soul-less Chrisette. . .anddddddd I'm happy to say SHE DID NOT LET ME DOWN!!!

The Album opens with the latest single, "Epiphany (I'm Leaving)" and follows the "getting over a boyfriend/relationship" motif throughout. There's only one collabo, "what You do" with Ne-Yo and the rest is strictly Chrisette singing her heart out on "ending a relationship and causes(Blame it on Me), finding another mate(Another One), being Independent(On My Own), and finding the perfect guy(Mr. Right) (Just to Name a Few) My personal faves thus far include *Notebook, All I Ever Think About, and Another One* {oh what the heck, I luv them ALL} The feel and tempo of the album is pretty constant throughout {Which I Enjoy} but Epiphany, Playing Our Song, and Mr. Right do offer funkier more upbeat grooves.

All in all, I can honestly say that Ms. Chrisette Michele has made another timeless masterpiece that I'll be listening to forever, or at least for another two years. . .until she comes out with her next one! :-) Kudos!

Hopped up outta bed, Turned My ‘GLAM’ On!!!

I know it’s been a long while coming, but it looks like Spring has finally decided to grace us with her presence! (thankfully so, don’t know how much longer I could wait!) It just seems like it’s so easy to turn on ur GLAM-A-TUDE when it’s 70 degrees and sunny, Oww! Check out the FIVE ‘practical’ things every girly needs/needs to do this spring to stay glitzy!glamy!girly! from the minute u hop up outta ya bed, to the wee hour of the a.m. when u stumble, I mean gracefully walk into your house after partying hard!!!

5. wicked {the dark dark brown almost black} midnight blue and black were perfect for the hard RUFF winter but it’s time to liven up the nail polish selection. COLOR UR NAILS PRETTY!!! Play with pinks, greens, yellows, and the ever so popular opaque white to replace darker shades of polish for ur spring mani and pedi’s!!! {of course, OPI has me sprung, so that’s my pick, but ESSIE has some amazing colors as well!} whatever u do, don’t be caught dead rocking black nails this spring, the 3g! police will be knocking at ur door and u will be sentenced to a life in a black pit, since u refused to acknowledge the change of seasons via ur nail polish! hmph!

4. the same way ur nails need to be color-evolved, so do ur LIPS! I’m one for wearing chocolatey/brown {Mac’s Shockolate and Oh baby} glossed lips but I’m retiring those for the spring! PINK, Clear, Nude, and Peachy lips are iiin!!! SHOP MAC for fun spring shades, their new dazzleglass looks fun! Or try Clinique for their *Kisser’s Limited edition* glosses, cuteee!

3. fresh pair of SHADES--- sunny days wouldn’t be the same without some glitzy glamy glasses!!! Whether u pick up a cheap $10 pair from a Forever 21 or some high end designer shades, just make sure they’re flyyyy {and fit YOUR face!!} c what glasses r best 4 ur face shape!

2. sassy sandals!!! I luv shoes, especially fun HIGH heeled/platformed/wedged sandals!! show off ur pretty lil’ pedicures while wearing fabulous footwear! {even tho many of us wear open toe/peep toe shoes yr round *def me and my girlies*} SPRING is the best time to rock ‘em! America's Next Top Model cycle 12 premiered wednesday night and from the looks of things, it appears to be interesting. I have to be honest, I chose my new favorite show, "Lie to Me" over the 2 hour ANTM special, but I did flip back 'n forth during commercials and what not. However, the Encore comes on tonight @ 8pm. . . so u didnt totally miss out! ! ! So watch it and get back to me with your thoughts on this season's girls! CONFESSIONS OF A SHOP-A-HOLIC: Playing in theaters now! Ultra cute and girly {prob wanna see this w/ ur girlies rather than the Mister} The main character goes to extreme measures to end her $hopping Addiction, lucky us we have a natural cure- the RECE$$ION to keep us from going into the red with absurd clothing purchases, but this flick provides the perfect comic relief for a time such as this!



HE'S JUST NOT THAT INTO U: This is one I've yet to see, but after my first encounter with this theory/book via Oprah several years back, I think it's one worth seeing! Instead of wondering if he really likes you and if you're holding his undivided attention, go see this film and learn how to recognize "the signs" and leave when "he's just not that into u" rather than playing a guessing game! {this is a possible, take ur boo with u to see movie...OR if he doesn't wanna go, then maybe, "he's just not that into you"}

FIRED UP: in theaters this friday......i'm thinking this will be another one to add to the Bring It On 1, 2, and 3 collection. However, it does play with issues of gender and stereotypes a bit. {don't expect anything deep like 'exploring gender discrimination 101"} but what u will find are 2 former "f-ball jocks" interested in seriously joining the cheerleading squad. Had this hit theaters circa 2000-2003, me and my entire SDHS squad would have made it a "cheer date night" {A SQUAD!!} lol. :-)

As glitZy glAmy giRly and GORGEOUS as you may be, it happens to the best of us! {boo-hoo} you find out that ur seemingly perfect prince charming of a guy that courts you for eight entire months without even pressuring you for the booty is MARRIED or your long time IT guy just all of sudden no longer wants to be in a relationship….yea I know how selfish and insane of both of those guys….didn’t they know u were the best thing that ever happened to them! {ha-ha, no seriously 80/20} but anyways here are my:

TOP 5 glitZy glAmy giRly-UR GUY IS GONE {PROBABLY FOR GOOD} PICK-ME-UPS!!!!

5. This is probably the most fattening, BUT doing it for 1 weekend won’t hurt. INDULGE! -in whatever it is you love- If you’re a chocolate craver, then head over to godiva and spend $50 or so on ur favorite treats….if it’s pizza u love-then call Pizza Hut and eat an entire large cheese and pepperoni pie…..whatever food it is u love- PIG OUT!!! {but don’t forget to hit the gym triple hard the following week, at least if u plan on getting back in the dating game!}

4. DRIFT AWAY FROM REALITY!!! So maybe u can’t afford a last minute get away to MIAMI or Vegas, but u can pop in a movie and it might do the trick. Avoid the Love and Basketball-Brown Sugar-Lovey Dovey types that just might increase ur heartache, instead go for something funny, something that will easily take ur mind off ur current situation!

3. Unlike tip #5, this suggestion may actually have u shedding a few pounds! STAY ACTIVE. It’s nothing like sitting around being idle and having all the time in the world to think reminisce and probably text or even call that evil bastard {oops did I say that} so hit the gym, clean out and reorganize ur shoe closet, go wash ur car, babysit some little cousins, anything to keep ur mind busy for a bit!

2. So texting, e-mailing, voicemailing HIM probably aren’t good suggestions because chances are you really have NOTHING NICE to say! {and speaking in anger won’t help the situation} but WRITING it all out for your eyes only might help! If writing doesn’t typically excite you, then visit Target and purchase a really cute {glitzy glamy girly} notebook or journal! Whatever comes to mind, just write it. Don’t concern yourself with grammar or spelling, just keep the pen moving {or if you wanna type it out then do so!} I promise and hour of writing daily will get a lot off ur chest and u will probably feel a lot better!

1. GIRL TIME!!!! Even though you will probably feel like locking yourself in your room or even burying yourself in a hole- don’t do it! Instead of hibernating, get yourself real glamy! Hair-Make-up-Hot Outfit {nice time to hit up a spa or the nail or hair salon} and just go Hang with the Girlies!!! No matter what you all decide to do, just being with people you love and that love you back will make you feel so so so much better!

Unlike America's next president,{yAy ObAmA} America's Next Top Model will NOT be BLACK. or even ethnic. but she will be BLAH! {in my book and i'm not racist prejudice or any of the above, just simply stating the facts!} remember when ANTM was the epitome of glitZy! glAmy! giRly! remember when u and all ur girlie~girls came 2gthr to watch it and actually had favs! well long gone are those days! Maybe it's just me but I'm not impressed with cycle 11- at all! Actually the past couple of cycles have been subpar! Remember the eva and yaya showdown, now that was fierce! The remaining contestants have no personalities, in fact i can barely remember their names! Sure the drama filled cycles like the one with Bre and the apple juice episode kept it interesting, but even still, the girls back then were fun 2 watch and fierce! Of the 3 remaining, McKey's the only thing glistening {just a lil' bit} and I hope she wins, the other 2 whose names I can barely recall are very dry, very blah, and very far from glitzy or glamy. {all the colorful ones left early, Isis, Sheena, Clark---boo!} After Tyra crowns a winner, I hope she does a 360 and comes back with a renewed cycle 12!

NOT THE COSBYS- BUT KEYSHIA COLE AND HER CLAN KEEP US ENTERTAINED!

Not really, well ok not at all born into glitz or glam, yet and still this girly is redefining who she is and trying to bring her family up with her, but they're just so freaking reluctant, esp that stubborn frankie. Keyshia Cole's reality series is known for it's up and out of the hood to a life of glam motif, but internal problems plague members of this dysfunctional fam. {I am not judging, bc we've all been there, just on different levels} on a glam note, I'm kinda liking keyshia's move from blonde to black hair {cute}, and loving her giddy girly new attitude she gives in her recording studio, which she credits to being free from a longterm off and on relationship {could it be Mr. My President is Black himself-jeezyyy} idk! But stick around for the rest of the season and more crazy frankie outburst like holla and mandown! {Def not glam!} but Keyshia's persistent in keeping her fam together and leading a wholesome life. {That my dears, is super glam} and she's trying to stay glitzy while doing so! {did u see her new whip}

These grown & girly~girls, aka: real housewives of atl, def lead glitz glamy lives-no doubt and never fail to deliver drama weekly! If u've been following, then u already know, but if not here's the skinny. Last night, Ne-Ne, better known as the realest, found out the man she believed to be her father all her life really is not {poor thing}. Lisa, miss busy body, found out her nfl powerhouse husband's going to the Oakland Raiders, allll the way 2 cali. Sheree was the God awful host of a clothes-less fashion show, her ex nfl playing husband made an appearance and she was smitten {at least I think so!} White girl Kim was fairly absent this episode, I guess she was perfecting her voice and working on tuning up her la la la's. My girl deshawn continued to be a sweetheart and tried to link all the girls together after gossip and girl talk gone bad. Will these Georgia peaches patch up their childish feud and keep it glam, watch next week to find out!

IT DROPS NOVEMBER XVIII!!! {Just 6 more days!}

This glam child had everyone counting down 'til B day and when that day finally came it was not only an album release/birthday celebration for her but an early christmas present for long time fans and even those sideline haters who fake like they can't stand Beyonce, but fall in love with her singles just like her loyal luvs. {It's ok, we forgive u this one time} She mesmerized us all with her hip hop flavor-filled Upgrade U, had all the girlies breaking out their freakum dresses, and everybody and their aunties getting bodied in the club! {pat ya weave ladies!} Well it's about that time again and Queen B is scheduled to drop her next piece of Royalty and it comes to us in the form of "I am...Sasha Fierce" stepping it up yet another notch, Beyonce unleashes her alter-ego, 'Sasha' on this two disc album. With stellar singles, Single Ladies and If I were a Boy, already climbing the charts, B or Sasha, whichever u prefer, is def bringing her A game! And I just can't wait!

Greetings readers {or lack thereof!} as 2day's my first day getting 3G {as u will sometimes hear me refer to my site as} off the ground! i've had the name in mind for quite some time now, and hope to later do big things with it, but today is my first day blogging and getting the site up and running!

2. this blog will keep all my girly~girls in tune with everything glitzy and glamy! This blog will cover everything from ultra cute boutiques and hidden treasure places to shop, to make~up must haves, trends, eateries, celeb biz, and so so so much more.
